I've just over-boarded an old lath & plaster ceiling in my bedroom by screwing through into the ceiling joists - so far so good...
Except along one edge of the ceiling the nearest joist is 12" from the adjoining wall. I'm just concerned that after skimming, this 'loose' 12" would want to droop slightly. The adjoining wall is a solid wall and will also be receiving a skim.

Any thoughts / ideas?
Will it be ok as-is? Is there some way I can hold up this 12" without screwing into a joist?

Many Thanks...

Paul

Are you using 12.5 boards?

If so - no probs. You tape the ceiling boards to the walls anyway.

Yeah boards are 12.5...

Happy days then... I assume taping the ceiling to the wall is standard practice then & my plasterer will know that?

Cheers
