I'm thinking of building a swimming pool!

Hi All, I'm from the UK, and a carpenter by trade, but have been around most of the building trades for many years, so am fairly experienced.

I'm considering building an outside swimming pool, I will build it myself, because i live in the philippines a lot of the more traditional pool kits or liners are not available, so i'm hoping to build a concrete lined pool, I would appreciate some advice on how best to go ahead with this,
plus I need some information of water pumps and filtration systems.

any advice ideas would be welcomed

swimming pools are not that easy to build, its more than a pump a hole and water, there is filtration, chemical dosing and pf course £, try google its very specialised.

I have just finished building a pool at home, at the moment it's outdoors but I intend to roof it in the winter.

I built the pool with no plans and bought most of the pool equipment secondhand on ebay.

It was relatively easy to do and most of the work was done by me and my brother in law.

I gleaned most of the info from the Internet and picked the brains of a couple of pool equipment retailers who were pretty helpful.

if you need any more info I'd be happy to share my experiences.
