Immersion heater - regular use

I do not like replacing elements on unvented cylinders because it is so time consuming to drain them.

And they are quite expensive too.

So my advice would to be to use gas heating for the HW rather than electric heating.
 
Most of the UV cylinders use a smaller diameter immersion heater thread. 1 3/4" BSP as opposed to 2 1/4" BSP from memory.

Elements about twice the cost too.
