I was wondering a how much more expensive immersion heaters are than gas central heating to run? Also, are immersion heaters better than gas central heating to heat a house?
I think you might be asking about the difference between night storage heaters and gas central heating. The answer depends on your insulation and the type of electric heaters you choose. If you are well insulated the cost difference isn't much. But the down side is more about control. The problem with electric night storage heaters is if the ambient temperature raises over night you may find yourself a bit too warm during the day, as the name implies, storage heaters, store heat and so continue to heat even though the power is off. Gas central heating, is the majorities first choice, it's more controlable and has the advantage of putting the heat where you want it, when you want it. BTW, both gas central heating and night storage heaters need electricity to work work, so the previous posting is not exactly correct. Hope this helps
