I know when doing imperial to metric there's adapters for to adjust the width of the Rad.
What do I do for the distance from wall? Is it just a case of changing single to a single etc?

it's possible, though I found it tricky, to cut a new slot in the wall brackets, with a hacksaw or dremel.

see if just turning the brackets the other way helps

your new rads will come with different brackets suitable for the new rad, you cant use the old brackets in most cases
