Hi, I have a combi boiler (Vailant TurboMax 282E, about 10 years old) and a mixer tap with shower attachment in the bath. When using the shower it is impossible to get a decent temperature, either the water is freezing cold or boiling hot. I have never managed to get an even balance. The water pressure in the upstairs bathroom the shower is in, is not great, seems a bit low. The water pressure i the kitchen is good. Is there any way this could be sorted out, a pump, etc, without a major overhaul. I would be willing to put in a thermostatic shower with pump if this would work.
Many thanks

I have the same boiler and have fitted a mixer bar shower and am very pleased with it.

Sell on Screwfix for about £70 :D

Have you turned the hot water control knob on the boiler down from maximum?

Its amazing what that can do!

Your boiler will give a very good shower!

Its possible the diverter is on its way out and the boiler is cutting out.

A temporary fix will be to run a bathroom hot tap half on whilen you shower!

Hi, thanks for the replies.
I did turn the hot water temp down on the boiler, as I thought someone had set it too high, but still the same problem. I cannot mix the hot and the cold together to get a nice comfortable temperature. It seems as if the hot water is switched off as soon as the cold water is on. I have been thinking about a thermostatic tap, so thanks for that reply. I am getting the boiler checked in about two weeks time anyway, so will wait to see if anything comes up then.
