Hi guys thanks in advance for taking the time to reply and sharing your experience. I'm trying to find a solution to achieving fresh white woodwork for door frames and skirting around my home. I'm happy to use any finish, so long as the wood stays white for as long as possible and doesn't yellow.
- have so far prepped the down stairs skirting and door frames with Dulux primer and undercoat, which is a water based paint. Any suggestions on what I should use as a finishing coat.
- im thinking about just painting the lot matt, so it stays white any comments on that?
- I also have to paint the down stairs loo woodwork which is in a room which doesn't have any windows. Ive read on here having no natural light can make white paint yellow quicker?
- Ive read on here about using Radiator paint on woodwork, anyone have experience of that?
- however ive glossed all the upstairs woodwork about 1 year ago and its yellowed already and its driving me crazy! I now need to go back and correct this, however the doors we have fitting are the pressed wooden ones, which look like the have a grain to them. I'm afraid and sanding of them to remove the exsisting gloss will also remove the grain effect. Any advice on this?
thanks again for your comments. Cheers.
