I am building my own in wall gel fireplace and would like some advice please.
It is going to be a rectangle shape with 3 bean tins inserted into a concrete block which will take the Gel with fireproof pebbles around. It will be about a foot of the ground. For the surround do I brick up to make the shape then render with fire cement or can I board it up with fire board then render with fire cement? Just a bit worried about the heat etc. Does anyone no if someone does a ready made insert? or cast iron burner?
