Hi All,

I've just moved into a house and the hot water is very hot (which is good) But when in the shower the water is very hot with the hot tap on full but as soon as you turn the cold tap just a tiny bit, its goes cold straight away.
Even when its running quite hot, it can fade during the shower.

Any ideas what I can check or look at to see whats going on with this?

Many Thanks, Rob

On what basis have you "just moved in"?

Unless you state the make and model of shower unit then the specialists here will not be able to advise you.

We have bought the house and moved in.

Make and model? I don't know, it's just a tap with mixer tap and shower attachment.

That's as much as I know, hence the request for help

Thanks, rob

Geegas, We have a worcester combi boiler I am pretty sure, no idea if its vented or not (complete noob when it comes to plumbing)

Let me know what to look for and I will try give the info you need to help out.

Pauley, sounds a similar situation but I am without pump )

try getting someone to turn on another hot tap while you are in the shower. Does this keep the water hot?

do other hot taps go cold when they are only partly on?

if that's not it, you might have a thermostatic shower that has been fitted with hot pipe to cold inlet. Which side of the valve is the hot pipe?

post a photo of it.
