Hi all, couod do with some thoughts here, having a bathroom renovation and the bathroom fitter said he can move the toilet, today he has installed the pipe work like this, which I can tell is wrong.

I’ve asked for it to be done correctly but he has said despite the install there is a ‘100% guarantee’ no issues or blockages in the future.

I’m aware 2 90 degrees bends should not be installed on a horizontal run, plus no support pipes.

Could I get some thoughts please as I’ve been charged extra for the toilet to be moved and now he wants an additional days labour to correctly install it and put the tee the right way around and change the pipe to plastic. Also apparently he had no idea it was a cast iron pipe when he saw it and mentioned he can move the toilet ‘no problem’.

Maybe DIY is the way to go as I’m getting ripped off here despite this costing a fortune.

Thanks

If that was me doing the job, I’d remove the cast tee, and replace everything above in plastic, sealing the flange where the cast meets the new plastic tee

That’s not looking like a good install from the pictures

Shocking. Significant chance of blockage and also not tied in properly. If that’s their work and they think it’s acceptable, I would be concerned about the rest of the job and ask the to leave especially if they’re trying to charge you extra to do the job right which they should have done in the first place!

Oh dear - tell them to stop and that you want it done properly.

The old cast needs to be removed and a new run. Could also tidy up the bath/shower/basin waste too
