Drum had stopped spinning but could still hear the motor running. So I dismantled to find the spider had completely disintegrated! (No doubt due to the complete lack of maintenance washes!!)

Got the drum out thinking I can replace the spider but it is riveted on to the drum. Looking around I can purchase a drum and spider or just a spider?

So am I unlucky that my machine has the spider riveted to the drum ?

Do you think I can get the remains of the spider off and fit a new one ?

Finally, it's 5 years old.... should I bother ?

Ta

Matt.

try and drill old rivits out . nut and bolt spider on other wise scrap it ;)

I would recommend you cut your losses and get a new machine. A Bosch or Zanussi would be a better bet than the Indesit.
