I have an indesit W123S Washing Machine that's sticking on all programs, fills with water fine and then seems to stick on the wash, doesn't go through the whole cycle. It drains fine if I then reset it and put it onto the drain programme, and also rinses and spins ok. If I put the temperature onto the cold wash it finishes the programme fine. After looking on the net I found that it could be the thermostat however my machine doesn't appear to have a thermostat only an element sensor. I've changed this but still having the same problem.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

If it washes but sticks on rinse heater needs replacing

It's not actually getting as far as rinse when on a programme, only when I manually put it on rinse does it rinse and drain. But I thought it was probably heater. Is there a way of testing the element? And how is it removed, as I removed the nut at the back and it pulls about 5milimetres but then feels like it's held in place somewhere else

Thanks

continuity tester on the heater ,or meter on ohms .the nut comes of then a good pull to get it out.

It was the heater element, well it was acutally the overheating shutoff which is part of the element. All sorted now with nice new element

Thanks for the help
