Indesit washer drier IWDC 6125 not draining

I swapped them over and the pump ran a full cycle (albeit while empty!!)

I will get a new one and if I understand correctly I replace the one in the back. It came out with a good hard tug.

Also, can I use the machine now as just a washing machine or will the other one now not working (as they've been switched) cause other problems before I get a replacement?

Yes you can use it as a washer. It may work on dryer too for now. But the part is cheap anyway. See how it goes. Part number you need is coo83915. Cost £9.99
