Hi, our washing machine stopped in the middle of washing. I have removed 3 x 5p coins from bottom drain pumb fillter. After that machine not starting at all, what ever program is selected. When I pushed the ON switch, the red lights flashes twice and then steady. Then in few seconds can hear a click noise that locking the door. The red light is steady as it accept the selected program, but nothing happening at all (no noise of water filling or drum turning....). I have checked the both cold & hot water inlets, ok. Couldn't find any burnt mark or damage on PCB. Any suggestions?

Before you go buying anything. Check the carbon brushes in the motor. Don't just look, take them out and check.

Thanks for the reply. I'll check the motor. In my case not even water is going into drum. Is it possible faulty motor preventing water valve solenoid to not activate?

Thanks for your advise sleepyhead. Today I have removed the brushes and checked. It's not broken or damaged, but nearly worn out (2mm left). After cleaned and refitted, the washing started to work now. Thanks again. For my future reference do you know the part number for the brushes and where I can get it please?

2mm isn't enough. Go to your local repair shop now and get replacements. If you continue to use the machine and the carbons are arcing you could do severe damage to the electronics
