Indesit WD12S Washer-Dryer - Spin cycle not working

I have an Indesit WD12S Washer-Dryer that is a little over 6 years old and has just developed a new problem - during the spin cycle, the drum fails to turn. Judging by the sound of it, the spin motor is kicking in okay and the drum rotates on all other functions.

Grateful for any assistance.

Check the motor brushes for excessive wear.
