Does not empty. :(
I have cleared minimal blockage from filter but it has not cured the problem. Anything else I can try before I call for an engineer?

Thanks for your help! :P

That error is a blockage somewhere. Check waste pipe sink spigot and sump hose there is still something stuck in there.

Thanks for your feedback.

Before dismantling further, I note that when I select the 'drain' function there is virtually no sound and the washing machine does not drain (I expect to hear the obvious sound of the pump pumping).
This makes me think that the pump is faulty BUT can you tell me if the pump automatically cuts out if there is a blockage?

Your advice very much appreciated. :)

Undo the filter cap does the impeller move if not Flick it with a screwdriver if no joy then pumps knacked. .

Does it move freely when put on pump out. If so you still have a blockage. Have you flushed the waste hose though

Yes I know that but have u checked waste pipe / sump/ sump to pump pipe etc. the pump filter may be clear but others u need to check.

had 2 visits now on this 1st reset with laptop 2nd changed. a kick normally got it running found by accident.
deff take the pump pipe work off and check

Took it all apart last night but not before noticing that the empeller seems to work eratically when in 'drain' mode.
No blockages found. Had to reseal where pump joins housing with sealant late last night and left it to go off.
Will try again tonight to see if it works continuously (did not find loose connection to motor). If it doesn't then I guess it's time for a new machine. :(

No blockages. Reassembled and tested whilst machine on side, all worked fine. Uprighted machine, put in situ and tested .... nothing! Flicked impeller whilst in drain mode: offers resistance rather than freewheeling.
Intermittant fault with pump?
Time for a new machine. :(
Thanks for your help though!

It does offer resistance it don't freewheel. It that case you have a lazy pump. Easy to change cost about 30.00.
