Hi, not DIY, but appreciate any insight into these strange patterns appearing 2 months after my Patio Installer fitted Kandla Grey Indian Sandstone slabs in my garden (pics taken before the massive rainfall we've been having). Installed around July 2025, on bed of mortar, still there today. Installer replied they've not experienced this before.

Suspect you have not applied a seal and where they have not been laid with adequate buttering of rear a void show as stains , though nothing to worry about .

Maybe look into a quality edging stone to keep things tidy and prevent water seeping under the slabs into the gaps. Laying them an inch or two higher than the level of the lawn would've been better but too late now.
