indirect copper cylinder

Hi
1.Air is getting into my copper cylinder it does not matter if the water is
hot or cold when i run the hot water tap i get air.
2. Also when i run hot water tap the water is scolding hot.

any advise r help or pointers will be much appreciated

Is it being heated by an immersion heater?

If so turn it off and replace it immediately with the latest spec type.

If not then the cylinder stat has probably had it and needs replacing.

thanks for prompt reply Bresssey no it is not being heated with immersion
heater. I will have a look at the cyl stat will this also be the cause for air when the water is cold in the cylinder?

How is the cylinder pipe work installed?

It sounds as if the inlet to the cylinder is undersized or restricted!

These kind of things are difficult for a DIYer to describe without a photo.

You might have to get a professional.

There may also be safety issues!
