Going to building a shed at the rear of the garden soon out of concrete block. I want to put electrics in there

Before anyone jumps in about Part P, I know, I want to know what is required so I can get the stuff and when the footings are being dug, I can dig the 600mm trench forthe saw cable. I could submit the electrical work at the same time and get the LABC to check it.

The shed will be around 25 meteres from the end of the house, and another 10meters to the consumer unit.

There will not be alot of load on the electrics, possibly 2 floresent lights, a socket to power a freezer and charger for workshop tools like cordless drill. May use sockets to connect a hedge trimmer or lawn mover.

I have a PME type system, will 2.5mm SWA be ok?

I was thinking using a henley block to split power to a main isolator, from here, connect swa and run to the shed into a garage type cu with a rcd switch and a 6a mcb and 16a mcb.

Would I need to install an earth rod or not?

Has what I said made sense?

you want to split the tails and run 2.5mm to the shed?

no, no, and no..

2.5mm max is 26A.

you'd be better off with something like 4 or 6mm, and it needs to be fused down from the mains..
