Hi Guys,

Wondering if any of you might know of something that would be suitable.

My pressure washer on off switch has failed. Replacement cost is ten quid, but problem is it broke once because it was cheap and crap so likely to break again. And i hate paying ten quid for some rubbish that cost 10p to make.

I was thinking about wiring the switch permanently on, then putting an inline on/off switch, Something rubbery and garden suitable..

However can't find what i am really looking for.

Any suggestions would be very gratefully received.

Thanks in advance.

I am fairly sure a new switch is going to fail quite quickly, when the switch makes contact, it arcs quite a lot, and on the inside of the switch you could see all the tell tail oxidation.

Its like the switch wasnt really man enough for the job.

i was thinking of something that looked like this:

http://www.toolstation.com/shop/Lig...ctronic+Transformer+105+VA/d220/sd2663/p83134

but actually a switch not a transformer.

I sware i have seen something once upon a time that was suitable.

Will check out the MK switch more closely.

Cheers

Yes that just the kind of thing i have been looking for.

Do the RCDS have on off switches, are just resets when there is an earth leakage?

Does the test button effectively act as a switch?

Never seen them in action ?

Cheers

The ones linked, all look and they info I have read seems to indicate, as if they only functionally switch via the RCD test and rest buttons.

That sounds like they will do the job.

I.e. test is off, and reset is on.

Should do the trick nicely...
