Hi everyone,

I'm trying to wire an extrator fan in my bathroom. It's a timed Mannose fan with 3 terminals... switched live, permanent live and neutral.

I've been trying to follow the instructions, but also I've been receiving some conflicting advice of people.

Do I definitely need two lives, a switched and a permanent. I'm guessing I do as how else would the fan continue to get power after the switch is off?

Can I do this:

Take the switched live and neutral, and run another live from the other side of the switch (permanent live).

I'd be grateful for any advice anyone can give, as this bathroom has cost me an absolute fortune already!

Thanks

you can get both lives form the switch, but unless the cables loop at the switch, you gonna have to go to the light for a neutral

Gotcha - so, could I take swithed live and neutral from light, and permo live from switch?

neutral not likely to be at switch, unless there are a bunch of blacks/blues taped up in the switch box. Have a look.

Probably easier to take all three from the light if they exist there.
