If an existing installation does not have an Installation certificate or its lost and I say for example add a new circuit to the installation thats not covered by minor works. When I come to inspect and test the circuit do I have to retest the entire installation or just the part I have installed. 2391 student. Thanks

you would only make out an electrical installation certificate for the circuit you have added.

you could make a note on the EIC that the installation has no documentation/charts/diagrams....ect, and relate that to the relevant reg numbers.

You will only have to test the new circuit and complete an electrical installation certificate. But you will also have to make sure the main equipotential bonding has been done, and the wiring from the origin to the protective device to the new circuit complies. :D

Thanks gents, makes a lot of sence after all how may homes actually have an up to date EIC or Periodic. Would be there all day if a full inspection was required.
