I have been asked to install a tumble dryer for someone. Do these all need an external vent? And I believe there is no drain to these? I have installed a lot of washing machines but never any dryers. Thanks.

Condenser dryer has a drain, vented drier is usually a 4" core job

Thanks do the condensers have a drain or a tray you pull out to drain? If it's a drain can it be teed in to the waste via a spigot on the kitchen sink trap.

Varies - some are gravity, some pumped and others have a reservoir

Most have a Reservoir that fills up and you have to manually empty and replace... They're a pain in the ar$e :cautious:

Most (if not all) condensing driers have a pump that shifts the water up from the condenser to the catch tray at the front, the pipe that runs to the top container can be altered to drain into a waste yes.

You get a draining kit that has clips and a longer hose.
