I am currently installing an airbath in my bathroom

The kit contains a heater at 13 amps and a blower unit at 5 amps.
I wanted to run a 2.5mm twin and earth from my consumer unit to my bathroom, to 2 fused spurs one with a 13 amp fuse and one with a 5 amp fuse for further protection to the bath kit, and protecting the cable with a 20 amp RCCB.

would i need to use the rccb if i have a split consumer unit with a 30maA rcd in it. How does this work, does it protect the bigger mcb's for the sockets etc. I have 1 spare way and i think its on the smaller mcb side?

Any replies would be much appreciated

i have a spare way in my consumer unit

but it is on the left of the rccb

the rccb has a spare point for the neutral, so can i move the rccb one to the left then put my 16amp mcb in. and the live of my cable in the mcb and the neutral of my cable into the spare point of the rccb? would this work?

RCD protection is a very good idea for anything related to a bath. Whether it is actually required by the current version of the regs is a somewhat complex buisness to work out but it will almost definately be required in the next version of the regs.

It is usually possible to change the balance between the ways on different sides of a CU but it is not particualrlly easy. You would have to cut down the bussbar on the non RCD side and replace the one on the RCD side.

Other options would be to use a RCBO, use a CU style RCD in a seperate box or use RCD FCUs for the bath kit.

Remember that this work is notifiable under part P.
