hello chaps, i have just bought a house and the old open vented system has had it. we would also like to use the loft as another room. could somebody please get me going with what exactly i need to do with the cylinder, the cwsc and the f and e tank. which pipework generically is used again, discarded and how to get the pipework plumbed so all the flows and returns are correct. are there any golden rules to follow? many thanks in anticipation. :)

Turn of the mains supply to the cwsc and f&e tank, Drain CWSC by running taps in your bathroom.

Drain everything else down.

Cylinder should have a drain cock somewhere also.

Connect the mains supply directly to the coldwater pipe going into the bathroom.

Remove the F&E pipes by cutting where it tee's into the system and rejoin the Flow/Return pipes.

Remove pump.

Remove all pipe work associated with the hot water system.

Make sure the 3 position valve is in the middle before draining too.

Good Luck
