Hi all,

My boiler and megaflow tank are outside the house. We loose a lot of heat from the tank because its outside obviously.

I have some loft insulation spare. Would it be ok to insulate the tank, or would there be a safety problem?

Thanks

They're very well insulated as standard. If wrapping more round it avoid the immersion and cylinder stat.

Make sure the hot water draw off is well lagged.

Joe,

Thanks for your reply.

Just a quickie. What is the reason to avoid immersion and cylinder stat?

Thanks

Just to eliminate the fire risk. My unvented tanks in my loft, classed as outside air and holds the heat well!

I am new to these forum places and have created more posts to find answers to my questions. I'm assuming I should have just used one. I am sorry.

The purpose of all this was to understand my central heating and unvented system.

I can see this is not the place to ask what would be classed as basic questions.

How do I delete all my posts and de register myself from here please?

Thank you
