Hello all, this is my first post, so go easy on me if I'm asking something stupid!!! My question is this, I have boarded most of my loft space quite a few years back with the T&G chipboard sheets from Wickes. Now I want to add some extra insulation up there, not to turn it into a proper room, but just so that it's a bit warmer so that I can set up the scalextric up there for me and my 8 year old daughter to play with!

Wickes are currently selling Space Blanket insulation for buy 1 get 3 free!!! Would this be OK to use to screw to the rafters going width ways across the roof using screws and large washers, leaving a 50mm gap behind for any venting??? Not only would this provide additionally insulation but the shiney side would hopefully make it a bit brighter up there too!

Thanks for any advice.

I'll try to keep my eyes peeled over in the cars and computers sections where I may be able to offer some advice instead! :D

Providing you leave at least 50mm between the insulation and underside of roof felt.
I don't see why not, it maybe wise to over lap the blankets as the foil will then create a vapour barrier and help prevent possible condensation.
