I've got a 1920's house with very cold floor in the living room (in winter). There is about a 30" crawl space below the floor and it's properly vented through air bricks. I was planning on getting under the floor and sticking some insulation between the joists.
Has any one done this and how much of a differance did it make. Also waht did you do to stop the insulation dropping. I was thinking wire mesh would be OK, any thoughts?

TIA, Tony.

Wire mesh or a few nails, you need to make sure any insulation you use is pushed right up under the boards ie there's no air gap bewteen the insul and the boards.
