Hi, I'm new to this so please bear with me..... I'm laying a solid oak floor in my lounge, and want to put some sound insulation under it to prevent passage of sound as much as possible through to the floor beneath. I already have Rockwool in the void between the floors, and was wondering if I could lay some kind of sound insulation between the existing floor, and the plywood I intend to glue the oak down to? I'm not sure if I will be wasting time and money by sandwiching the insulation between the two floors, or will it work just as well as if it was directly beneath the oak?

Thanks in advance,

Tony
