insulation between bedroom and integral garage..help!

i've just taken down the plasterboard from garage roof,due to it was coming away from the joists.
whats the best insulation to place between the joists,and where to get it?
do i have to fire protect it?
before replacing new plasterboard

Is there a room above this garage? It will need fireproofing, in which case use rockwool for the insulation, full depth. Then vapour barrier, followed by 12.5mm fireline plasterboard. You may be able to get foil backed fireline PB (can't remember off top of me head) in which case that's the vapour barrier built-in.
