insulation for suspended floor

Interesting thing insulation.
When it comes to floors, keep in mind that our body temperature is about 30C.
Therefore, carpet, underlay, oriented strand board floating floor, polystyrene or similar closed cell fully floating insulation , original floor.
This is a lot easier to install.

Okay fair enough
Now please advise the K value of the four named above materials and the total R value. and the U value.

That's core temperature, not foot temperature. Foot temperature is, give or take, 30C.

So what you are saying, is that after you have gone out and spent hard earned money on buying your suggested listed items all as above, then you have no idea of the R value or the benefit that they will achieve until you have brought them home and fitted them.
Never heard of anything so stupid in all me born days. Suggest you learn your K-s, R-s, and U-s before advising any one else how to waste their money.

Indy,
The current U value for suspended ground floors is 0.022Wm2/K.
The thickness of the insulation required is arrived at by the perimeter/area ratio.
In the worst scenario of 1, to achieve above U value you will require 75mm of either, Kingspan TF70,. Celotex FR4000, Eco Therm Eco-Versal, Recticel Ecotherm GP or Xtratherm XTUF.
All the above have a lambda value of 0.022W/mK.
There are other materials that can be used but your thickness will increase from 140 to 200mm.
Forget all about a 50/50 mixture as acoustics do not come into the equation on a ground floor.

Thanks Oldun.

That's a nice simple answer. Basically the best thing to use for any ground floor suspended floor that has a crawl space is 75mm Kingspan TF70 (or similar)

Simples! Thanks :)
