I need to get into the back of an integrated cooker/microwave. I have identifed the screws which release the oven but am concerned regarding the wiring behind. Should there be enough cable for me just to lift the cooker out of its space. It is wired to a central socket, ie not a plug.

If the outlet is on the wall behind the cooker, bear in mind that the person who fitted it almost certainly stood it on the floor while he connected the cable, then lifted it into place.

If the outlet is beside the cooker, he might have put it in place first, then connected the cable.
