I have an integrated dishwasher, the door is difficult to open because the kitchen work top above it has warped from the heat / steam of the dishwasher, making the door difficult to open.

I was told there should be some kind of heat absorbing material on top of the dishwasher that isn't on mine. I tried to get some but was told you have to go dishwasher maker (Smeg) you cant buy it. Do other people have this heat absorbing thing, would a radiator heat reflective sheet do the same job ?

Cheers :)

When u install a dishwasher u normally get either & metal strip or a special sticker that fastens onto the underside of the worktop before u fix the unit inplace. I would guess it was disgarded resulting in your problem. No steam should leave the machine during the cycle & dont open it until the cooling process is complete.
