I would like to add some intelligent LEDs of the back of my tv, not just the ordinary ones which just cycle but the ones which follow a movie so say for a forest scene They would light up green
How will the intelligent LEDs know what the picture on the screen is ?
You could put a small TV tuned to the same channel behind the TV you are watching. Face this small TV to the wall and the wall will have a colour similar to the colours on the TV.
There are lots of guides on how to make your own Ambilight for your TV using Arduino mirocontrolers.
Search for "arduino ambilight" to see the guides and setup needed.
But note that it uses an arduino to analyse the HDMI input into your TV or Monitor (ie when it is used as a monitor connected to your DVD or computer or SKY box). It does not work for TV images that are made directly by the TV (ie using its internal decoder).
