Our kitchen floor has just been relayed with ceramic tiles and there is a crack in 1 of the L shaped tiles. Our tiler has said that this was an intentional crack as the floor where the tile to be layed wasn't level - without doing this one side of the tile would have been higher than the other.

Is this true or are we being fed lies to cover up a cracked tile?

Thanks in advance.

it is one way of doing it, however getting rid of the problem before tiling is the more normal approach - either by chopping the lump out or levelling the floor.

Depends on your agreement with him and how visible\acceptable it is but in general its not really acceptable

it would normally be a cut - not a crack.
