Hi,

Just out of interest and curiousity, if using a 3kw generator which sits in the back of a vehicle which is hitched up to a catering van (stationary I might add), the catering van running various electrical equipment, what is the earth situation and what solutions could be used in order that apparent lack of earthing could be rectified in order to make things safe!

IF deemed by you professionals to be unsafe, this MUST be a very common problem with the amount of mobile catering trailers (roadside, bootsales, shows etc) using generators for their power !!!

Have a search on here because this topic has been covered many times before.

And forget the earth spike, most companies will get the hump if you start digging up their car park.

Electrical separation is probably the only way forwards with this type of setup.
