I have 2 Texecom Premier Elite 24wireless systems in adjacent buildings. Occasionally, but not all the time, when setting or unsetting one system it will start the other system to produce a continuous beep from the other alarm panel. Any ideas on potential causes?
Both systems are Texecom Premier 48W systems. Issue seems to occur when setting the alarm system for the main house - alarm sets fine, but the system in the annex starts making a constant beep noise (not the same sound as the alarm being set or going off). Noise can be stopped by entering normal code. Nothing shows on log for either alarm system, other than the setting of the alarm in the main house. As mentioned its only sporadic that this happens, but as we let our annex out it can be annoying for our guests
I need to know how it is being set. Not which system is being set.
do both systems have smart coms?
There are several possibilities but how the the system is being set is critical to rule in or out some of the possibilities and where to look next.
Until I have that information I will be guessing and the process will take a whole lot longer stabbing around in the dark hoping to find the issue let alone resolve it.
Nothing in the log for either alarm system is extremely concerning as I would expect very least that the arming procedure to be in the main house panel log no matter how it has been armed or attempted to be armed. Hence why nowing how you are trying to arm it is critical informaton.
If the system was set up by an installer then call them back, but a 48W will have been in some time as they stopped the 48-W and used the 64-W instead.
so next question is how long has it been in and when did this start to occur or when did you become away of it?
I am free if yu want to have a quick chat and share information with me that may speed things up?
Are you setting with a hard wired keypad?
Remotely with an App?
With a Smart Key?
do you have a wireless dual tech on the system?
The systems should be on different wireless networks and this can only be confirmed by looking at the system in ricochet monitor.
If your using a wireless ‘keypad, you can try setting the addresses so the main alarm and the house alarm are different.
is there a wireless device learned onto both systems.
Easiest way to check that is to choice the premises with the least number of devices on and open each device up and see if a tamper registers on the other system.
Without information there is little help available, hearing the sound generated on the other system may help.
It’s not uncommon for noises caused by other things to be mistaken for the alarm. Most common being smoke detectors low battery alarm.
Just on clarifications - the log does show the alarm being set and unset on the main system, but nothing else on the main system and nothing at all on the second system where the alarm is going off. Both systems have wireless key pad systems which I am entering a code in to set the alarm. The issue has been arising for about three years - probably about 3 or 4 times a year with no discernable pattern as to when and why the issue is occuring. We do have a paid maintenance service from a reputable firm, but they have had no suggestions as to why it occurs - they reset the whole system from time to time but the issue still occurs. Because it is randomnly happening, I cant replicate it on demand, but should I get an opportunity to capture the problem on video I will.
I'm not a real technical expert so not sure I'll be able to undertake the suggestions you have but will try - to be honest reason for posting the issue was in case there was someone who had ideas that seem to have evaded by alarm company
