Interior paint on an exterior wall?

Hi,

If I slap on interior paint on a small patch of exterior wall, will it just flake off or will it last? Even if just for a few months?

I'm patching up a flakey bit for the short term, hopefully without buying a whole tin of masonry paint!

Matt Emulsion Paint worked in the days before the New Fangled Masonry Paint was brought onto the market !!!

Really i just want something short term where I can use some paint I have lying around
