My first ever post so be gentle....
Recurring but intermittent problem remains despite a local Corgi firm, being made aware of the symtoms, doing a full service and poke about. The problem reocurred after a few days.
Hystorically the system worked fine, but months back we occasionally noticed the house cooling and found the radiators cool. Controller window shows CH & HW as on, but switching the time clock overrides off and on again usually started the system again - only occasionally did this take more than once to make it work. Again often the system worked fine for undetermined time being a few hours, a few days or a couple of weeks.

House and original system 20 years old, we have been in the house for ten years.
Circulation pump was changed about six years ago;
About four years ago the gas fired boiler was changed to a Ferroli Sigma 60-100 (appears Gravity DHW and pumped CH );
Changed the hall room stat for a new Drayton when problem first appeared.
Has a motorised valve presumably original kit (cover missing but ex net possibly a Honeywell “Y” plan);
Controller is a Potterton EP2000 (presumed original kit so 20 year old version).

Any considered suggestions greatly appreciated.
