Internal damp from Parapet Wall on roof.

The attached photos show the parapet wall on the roof of our house which was built in the early 1900’s.

Damp is getting into the wall of the bedroom below. There is also an unused chimney but this has been pointed, ventilation bricks fitted, and a new capping. Flashing to the parapet wall and chimney wall was renewed where needed and the bedroom wall was dry for some time, even through a rainy summer.

But in the Autumn the damp re-appeared. Our excellent roof repairer suggests that the parapet wall must be the problem, but brickwork is not his strongest field.

Expert advice would be very much appreciated.
