Hi guys,

Would it be Ok to insulate internal bedroom walls with non-breathable boards, something like Marmox or similar.

The main concern, as it is non-breathable, will it not damage the walls/plaster in some way, damp, mold, etc.

The walls are with cavity (insulated).

Thanks,

do you mean internal walls?

or do you mean the internal face of external walls?

Internal Wall

Current Cavity wall insulation is old and may have failed (the house is cold) to take the insulation out and re-insulate the cavity will cost £5000+

an internal wall, between two heated rooms, does not need to be insulated

if you think you have a cold cavity-insulated external wall, is it damp?

Let me re-phrase. Is it Ok to insulate the inside (in the room) walls on the Street facing walls. Not between two heated rooms

No, it is not damp

you can if you want. But I think you'd do well to find out why an apparently CWI wall is cold.

it's usually damp-related.
