Hi guys, i'm working on my ground floor flat and am ready to get the hole thing re-plastered and have a couple of questions im sure you can help with.

Q.1 I want to use a render as the base coat as some walls are 'brick on edge' and i want to get them as solid as poss-maybe EML'ing after raking out the joints before the scratch coat, the question is do the same arguments stand Re Lime render vs Cement based on internal walls where render is used as a base coat?

Q.2 What ratios should be used for scratch and second coats when applied to old stocks and should anything be applied to seal the brickwork before the scratch coat or is it ok the just wet down throughly?

Q.3 There are approx 140m2 to render, what's the best way to roughly calculate quantities (render sand etc), i know this depends on the depth of the coats but just looking to get a rough idea.

Many thanks for reading.B
