A question for the joiners here.

We are re-doing all of the doors in the house at the moment. We would like the living room door to be split opening top and bottom so we can do away with the stair gate.

Does anyone know of a supplier of internal grade split opening doors?

We would like the top half glazed(small panels) and the bottom half to be solid.

If there aren't readily available internal grade doors could we get a hardwood door and cur it in half? Or are there internal supports even in a hardwood door?

Thanks
Darren

It can be done, with the saw set at an angle so that closing the top automatically takes the bottom with it.
If there isn't enough structure in the door you could add some after the cut but easier to buy a decent door
