Hot water at home, previous owner has had the loft cold water tank taken out and unvented cylinder / boiler put in on the ground floor.

The supply T's off around the building with a 15mm pipe going to to the loft (where tanks been removed) and back down as 15mm pipework and then to 22mm just before the boiler

Is it worth getting a new 22mm pipe run from the incoming mains to the boiler? (also a much shorter run)

i'm unsure with water, does a lower volume of water get to the boiler with a long pipe run and when pipe sizes get smaller and then larger?
