Would anyone have suggestions on which wood stain/wax product to use on internal 1930s internal picture rails, skirting boards, door frame/doors?

I stripped the timber back to the bare timber, then applied linseed oil to some of the skirting board. However, it looks very orange in appearance.

A light, medium or antique oak colour would possibly be nice. Should I use an oil or water based product? Or perhaps a wax?

I noticed this product, though there are many different products available on eBay:

Thank you!

I doubt anything will stain it properly, now that it has been sealed with linseed oil...

I am more interested in how you managed to strip so much awkward-shaped moulding back to bare wood! What's your secret?

It was only a one section of skirting board in one room. So it's still okay for the rest.

I just used a heat gun to strip off the majority of it, then applied paint remover which I left for 24 hours before removing. I used a combination diamond shaped headed and flat-headed scrapers.

In that case I would go with Briwax, pick your own colour. Stains and polishes to a lovely sheen (when mixed with elbow grease).

What kind of paint remover do you use? I have found stripper can discolour the wood.

Thanks, I'll have a look at the Briwax product.

Yes, the timber certainly wasn't clear clean pine when I stripped it back. Though it's from the 1930s so has probably had many products applied over the years. So I don't know if the paint stripper I used contributed to that or not.

I used this product, as it's just what they happened to be selling at the local paint store:
