IP4X?

Nothing wrong with using silicone sealant.

I tend to use rear entry if at all possible (ooh-er, missus!). Saves a lot of hassle.

Will your grommets guarantee you IP4X?

Yeah, right. You try fixing cable glands to rectangular knock-outs! :D

As I have said I almost always use rear-entry anyway, but in cases where I can't I use mini-trunking. I drill correctly-sized entries for my meter tails and earth conductor, giving IP4X even where it is not required.

And, seriously, how many domestic CUs do you see with glanded cable entries as the norm?

But I plan my work before I do it. In the case of the OP he wants to know how to correct the problem after the fact, not how to avoid it before the fact.
