Is cylinder stat connected to Electrics?

Might be a really stupid question, but need to change my cylinder thermostat, is the stat connected to the electrics or does is it just a cable to the controller? i.e Do I need to isolate electric before changing?

I think the advice would be to isolate, whatever !

It is probably powered from the boiler controller. If you isolate power to the boiler it will probably go dead.

But you can never trust anything, so test carefully with your multimeter before and after cutting power.
