Is it the isolator switch or the oven

Hi wondered if anyone could offer advice.

We have a Bosch double oven which is about 8 years old.

On Monday when we were cooking something happened and it fused the cooker.
When we put the checked the isolator switch was hot and we couldn't turn it off.
Once we flicked the fuse switch the bottom oven did not work but the top one did.

On Wednesday an appliance engineer came and put a new element in the bottom oven.
I told him about the isolator switch but he said it was fine and didn't need anything doing.

Wednesday night when using the grill in top oven the fuse blew and the isolator switch sparked.

Waiting for the guy to come back to have a look but don't have much confidence in him after what has happened.

If someone could provide some help to try and establish have we just been unlucky or have we been fleeced and should I get someone else in.

It could be the wiring in the switch is loose, overheating and is shorting when it warms up.

I can't say if the element did need replacing although, if it did and the engineer found that, he may have assumed that was the fault.
