Hello
This is my first time using a dehumidifier so I am not sure if my dehumidifier is working properly.

I got a new Wessex dehumidifier. It's been on for more than 24 hours but has not collected a single drop of water.
It also emits cold air ( I was expecting it to emit warm air).
I have tried it in the utility room and conservatory.

It shows humidity level at 80 and after many hours it went down to 78 but still no water collected in the tank.

So do you think this is how dehumidifier work or shall i return it?
thanks

Have you read the instructions and tried it in different modes and have you ensured the water container is installed correctly. If yes to those questions then it would appear not to be working properly.

No, they don't warm the air, except as a by-product, but it should be filling up with water, fairly quickly. Dehumidifiers, tend to work best in a warm atmosphere. The way they work, is similar to a fridge - the room air, is blown across cold pipes, which condenses the moisture out onto the pipes. That then drips down into the container.

Yes, I tried Continuous and Quick dehumidifier modes. Very certain tank is installed correctly.
Will take it back to the shop to see what they say
