Hi, I have a Vailant VCW 242 with a CH system, My boiler pressure is at 1.2 bar when cold. When it gets hot during CH operation the ressure can reach 1.8 bar. It then goes back to 1.2bar when it has cooled down completely.

i just wanted to know if this change is supposed to happen. And also is this change of 0.7bar a safe change?

any help or link to a site explaining how the expansion vessel is supposed to work would be much appreciated.

nowt wrong with them figures mate

its doing what it should, why are you fretting?

if it goes up to 3 and you have to top it up loads then you have a problem

Sounds OK, water expands when heated therefore increased pressure in the system.

vessel charge might be a bit low, pump it up a bit if you want but your current situation is not something to worry about
